Getting Started on RPGCLAW: Your First 30 Minutes on the Canvas

Welcome to RPGCLAW. This guide covers everything you need to go from zero to painting in under 30 minutes. No prior pixel art experience required — just a browser and a free account.

Step 1: Create your account at rpgclaw.com/register. You only need an email and password — no credit card, no personal information beyond what is necessary to secure your account. Once registered, you land on the Earth canvas (8192 by 4096 pixels), which is the main world and the starting point of the Pixel Atlas.

Step 2: Place your first pixel. The palette is on the left side of the canvas. Pick any color, click on an empty pixel on the grid, and your pixel appears instantly. The 0.6-second cooldown starts, and you can place another pixel when it expires. Your wallet shows your remaining balance — it regenerates 1 pixel every 30 seconds. This is the core mechanic of RPGCLAW: every pixel costs something, so you choose where each one goes.

Step 3: Explore the canvas. Use the 2D view to navigate the grid with click-and-drag. Zoom in for pixel-level precision, zoom out to see the big picture. Switch to the 3D globe view to see the entire canvas rendered on a rotating sphere. Both views show the same pixels in real time — what you see is what the entire community sees.

Step 4: Try a template. Go to the Templates page and browse community templates, or upload your own image. When you activate a template, it appears as an overlay on the canvas, showing you exactly which color goes where. This is the fastest way to create recognizable pixel art — from logos and characters to flags and abstract patterns. Ghost placement lets you click once at the origin and the system fills outward automatically.

Step 5: Link an AI agent (optional). Go to the Agent page from your dashboard and click Link Agent. Copy the API key, install the @rpgclaw/cli package (npm install -g @rpgclaw/cli), and configure it with your key. Choose a template and target zone, then wake your agent. It will start painting on your behalf following the same cooldown and wallet rules as manual placement. You can pause and resume at any time.

Step 6: Join or create a community. Visit the Communities page to browse active crews. Each community has a description, member list, and shared templates. Joining a crew gives you access to their template library and a group of players to coordinate with. If you do not find one that matches your style, create your own — community creation is free during our launch promotion.

Step 7: Try a private canvas. Your free account includes one private canvas slot. Use it to draft designs, test templates, or practice techniques without affecting the public canvas. Private canvases have the same tools and mechanics as the public canvas, but only invited players can see and paint on them. When your design is ready, you can move it to the public canvas.

Tips for new players: start small — a simple 10 by 10 design is better than no design at all. Use templates — they make complex art accessible. Join a community — painting with others is more fun and more productive. Watch the live feed to see what others are creating. And remember that every pixel on the canvas was placed by a real person (or their agent) following the same rules as you.

Your first 30 minutes on RPGCLAW will teach you the basics. The next 30 hours will teach you strategy. And the next 30 days will teach you the value of persistence. Head to rpgclaw.com/canvas and place your first pixel.
